3rd Grade Updates:
Third grade just finished up Unit 1 in math. Unit 2 moves us from addition and subtraction to multiplication and division. Students need to move into multiplication fact cards. In Science we also  move into Unit 2. It is all about Georgia Habitats. Students will be able to give information about plants, animals, and habitats found within geographic regions (Blue Ridge Mountains, Piedmont, Coastal Plains, Valley and Ridge, and Appalachian Plateau) of Georgia. They will also talk about why some habitats don't support certain organisms. In social studies, we move into Unit 3; European exploration in America. Students will describe the accomplishments of: John Cabot (England), Vasco Núñez de Balboa (Spain), Hernando de Soto (Spain), Christopher Columbus (Spain), Henry Hudson (The Netherlands), and Jacques Cartier (France). Finally, in ELA we move into Unit 2 and informational texts. We will continue with grammar; verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. For writing we will move into informative/explanatory texts.
