Hello and welcome to fourth grade. It's going to be an exciting year! Changing classes for the first time is cool, right? It allows us all to get to know each other and build relationships. Remember, it is important that you are prepared for each class and ready to learn each day. Please let us know how we can make this transition easier for you! This year is going to be awesome, you are going to learn so much!

4th Grade Happenings:
Fourth Grade is on the move. We just wrapped up another RCD Unit in all subject areas.
In reading we will move on to Figurative Language and Poetry when we return.  Learning about similes and metaphors is always fun! The students will have an opportunity to show just how creative they can be when the analyze and create their own poems. Please make sure that your child is reading at least 20 minutes each night. Be on the lookout for  a reading log to track their reading.
In Science  we are learning about Space and the Solar System. Please remember your child need one poster board for their project. In Social Studies we will begin our unit of The Westward Expansion-The Nation Expands. This unit is one of the most exciting!
In math, we are currently learning how to recognize and create equivalent fractions, comparing fractions using the >, <, or = signs, and put fractions in order from least to greatest or greatest to least. Please make sure your child is studying their multiplication facts each night. We take a multiplication facts quiz each Friday and they love being able to meet their goals and move up to the next set of facts!
