Welcome to 5th Grade!
We are so excited to welcome you to Moreland Road Elementary and to the 5th grade. We are looking forward to an awesome year of learning and getting ready for middle school. Our team is departmentalized, which means you will have a different teacher for each subject. Mrs. Hall will teach Science. Mrs. Griggs will teach English Language Arts and Reading. Mrs. Underwood will teach Mathematics. Ms. Laberis will teach Social Studies. We look forward to working with you to help your student be successful this school year.

Hello! My name is Andrea Griggs and I am a 5th grade English Language Arts teacher. I’m a Georgia native who attended school in Dekalb County. Over the years, I’ve attended
Jackson State University (Bachelor’s),
Troy University (Master’s), and
Kennesaw State University (Ed.S).
I am so excited to meet each of you, and I can’t wait to get the year started!
Hello! My name is Joslyn Hall and I am a 5th grade Science teacher. I’ve been a Georgia girl my entire life. I grew up attending school in Rockdale County. I then moved to Barnesville where I graduated from Gordon State College with my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. Toward the end of my college years, I moved here to Griffin. Now, I will be starting my first year here at Moreland Road Elementary School and I could not be more excited!
Hello! My name is Jonni Laberis and I am a 5th grade Social Studies teacher. I attended Mercer University where I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. After several years of teaching 4th grade, I went back to Mercer University and received my Master’s Degree in Early Childhood with a math focus. I am so excited to be part of the Mustang family and to be working with your child this year!
Hello! My name is Gracie Underwood and I am a 5th grade math teacher. Here is a little about me. I earned my early childhood education degree from the University of Georgia, so I must say GO DAWGS! I also have my Master’s Degree in early childhood mathematics. This is my 16th year teaching, 13 of which have been with the Griffin-Spalding County School System. I am super excited to be working with your child this year.
